What’s tall and green and ridiculously freaky?

In case anyone is hanging out around here, kicking stones and waiting for my triumphant return to blogging, well congratulations, today is your lucky day!  Yes YOU!

I wish I could say that I haven’t been blogging due to an extremely whirlwind social life, but that would be lying, and Big Girls Don’t Lie.  (Or was it Big Girls Don’t Cry?  In which case I do.  A lot apparently.)

No, my lack of blogging was due mostly to a feeling of non-responsibility to everything and everyone, including work, home, pets, friends, blogs, etc.  It’s that post-vacation slump where you are back in the daily grind, and just. not. feeling it.  Add to that a few miniature personal disasters, and you’ve got yourself an I JUST DON’T GIVE A FUCK RIGHT NOW attitude that carried me through….oh the past four weeks.  Hurray!

Luckily, somewhere around the three week mark, I decided that I needed a huge kick to get me back on track, and so I decided that August would be my detox month.  And by detox I mean: no coffee, no alcohol, no drink besides water, no sugars, no processed foods, no breads or flours, very  little grains, and mostly a diet of raw fruits and vegetables.   Let me rephrase that: nothing but water, fruit and vegetables.

And would you believe it is working?  After the first few days where I got a bit feverish, by day four I was soaring, and now I feel great.  It’s never a bad thing to get back to the basics of healthy living/eating and it is certainly never a bad thing to drink more water.

I say that after 9 days, but maybe you should check back with me at the end of the month and see how I feel then!

In other news, Amsterdammers, please check out my Hotel V blog post about the upcoming SAIL 2010.  It’s going to be a dooooozie!

Also? This is in a window on the Leidseplein that I pass on my walk to work in the morning, and without fail every morning it scares the living shit out of me, so naturally I took a photo for you.  You’re welcome!

Gah!
